OVERVIEW

Ms. Akinyi is the Managing Partner. She has been exposed to different working environments from the year 2013 to date. She is the head of staff and assists in the day to day running of the firm.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ms. Akinyi undertook her pupillage at the firm of BMA Associates and was retained as an Associate Advocate thereafter upon her admission to the Bar. Shortly after, she joined the firm of HKM Associates and is currently the Managing Partner.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND

Post Graduate Diploma in Laws/Advocates Training Program Bachelor of Laws.

CURRENT PRACTISE AND SERVICE AREAS

  • Bank Securities and Finance; perfection of Bank securities such as charges and debentures; asset financing.
  • Commercial Law; preparation and interpretation of commercial agreements such as royalty agreements, equipment leasing agreements and hire purchase agreements; contracts for supply and/or sale goods; intellectual property such as patents, copyrights, trademarks and industrial designs.
  • Company Secretarial Services; incorporation of both local and foreign companies and business names; preparation and filing of statutory returns; transfer of shares, increasing or reducing share capital and allotments.
  • Bank Securities and Finance; perfection of Bank securities such as charges and debentures; asset financing.
  • Immigration Law; processing of entry and work permits; acquiring and regaining Kenyan citizenship; determination of citizenship status.
  • Providing legal opinions and general advice to clients on contemporary legal issues.
